Android 4.4 is Officially Named As KitKat
It’s official, the new Android 4.4 version is officially named as KitKat. And yes, it is the same as those crispy chocolate wafer bars that you have munched on. This means, it is the first version of Android to be named after a delectable chocolate bar.
The version was officially announced by Sunar Pichai on Twitter, and shortly thereafter the announcement went live. So the real score is that we can no longer call it with other names aside from the official one. And to celebrate the new version, a huge statue was erected in Google’s campus celebrating the tasty new Android version.
This also marks the start of the huge giveaway between KitKat and Google where participants can earn a spanking new Google Nexus 7 just by checking the code inside a participating wrapper. If you happen to have the winning code, you can check out the official giveaway website to verify if you have won. There are
many prizes to be given away and these include a Nexus 7, Google Play Store credit, a free bag of Kit Kat Minis and more. There are about 1,500 tablets to be given away and over 150,000 worth of $5 credits on the Google Play.
